FIREMEN BOOT UP FOR ANNUAL BURN INSTITUTE DRIVE
Full Description:
Local firefighters will start shaking those boots again this Friday for burn survivors. The annual “Fill The Boot for Burns” drive runs Feb. 16-19 at the busy corner of Greenback Lane and Sunrise Blvd. in Citrus Heights where firemen will pass the boot for donations from motorists waiting at traffic lights. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. Friday with the awesome fire truck basket lift-off which will carry firefighters Michal Daw and Forrest Rowell up 100 feet into the air. The drive continues to 5:30 p.m. on Friday and runs 9a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday, with Monday collections set for 9a.m.-4p.m. Last year, the annual fundraiser collected about $130,000 for the nonprofit Firefighters Burn Institute. For further details, call (916) 739-8525.
